Delegation
and Motivation
|
| |
|
| As
organisations grow increasingly complex, the duties and responsibilities
of the workforce can be less defined; the allocation of task is
less distinct, and everyone appears to be doing each other’s
job.
Delegation is an essential management skill, and to achieve the
very best results you should be aware of its benefits and recognising
the barriers that can hinder its success.
Delegating
to motivate is central to a feeling of job satisfaction and sense
of achievement, as people will not develop unless they are given
tasks that build their abilities, experience and confidence. It
follows that they will perform best in a structured environment
in which all are aware of the delegated duties and responsibilities,
and in which each has the skills and resources to carry out task
efficiently.

Effective
delegation involves the stimulus of increased responsibility and
can provide both enhanced satisfaction and greater sense of self
worth. In other words, delegation is empowerment; the mainspring
of better work and job satisfaction.
Regular and effective feedback is the essential tools for maintaining
motivation.
This programme examines this and develops a working approach to
delegation with close guidelines for mentoring providing an opportunity
for others to flourish. |
